MAVERICK has worked with FIRST ONSITE Property Restoration since 2011. The company’s emergency services help homes and businesses restore, rebuild, and rise after weather related damage to their properties.

Over the years, MAVERICK has supported FIRST ONSITE and helped train frontline communicators and responders during some of Canada’s largest weather catastrophes: the 2013 southern Alberta floods and 2018 GTA floods; the Fort McMurray, and BC wildfires and atmospheric rivers; Ontario tornadoes; and hurricanes, to name a few.

Based on our success with First Onsite in Canada, in 2023 we were given the opportunity to work with the company’s U.S. operations during the planet’s warmest year on record – while Canadian fires burned, and wildfire smoke blanketed our neighbouring American cities. In early August 2023, a series of wildfires broke out in the U.S. state of Hawaii, on the island of Maui. MAVERICK helped to update the public through pitching, briefing, and arranging interviews between local, First Onsite experts and American-wide television networks based in Maui.

Since 2020, MAVERICK conducts an annual survey to get a benchmark of Canadian attitudes, weather worries, and properties concerns related to climate change. The survey kicks off each March and helps First Onsite get a benchmark of Canadian sentiment and provides a narrative framing device to ensure solid communication with the media.
