Bringing Extraordinary To Life: The Launch of the New Toronto International Design Centre

This blog post is brought to you by Emma Ninham, Account Coordinator, MAVERICK

A rainbow ceiling, an oxygen bar, THE Tiffany Pratt, and some seriously colorful interior design vignettes, the rebrand launch for the Toronto International Design Centre (TIDC) was an Instagram-worthy event to say the least.

Formally SOFA: Source of Furniture + Accessories, MAVERICK partnered with TIDC to welcome its new name, logo and sleek style on Friday, May 25 at the International Centre. Working under TIDC’s new tagline ‘Create Extraordinary Spaces’, we had to think big, bold and extraordinary.

And what better way to celebrate the new brand identity of Canada’s only premier one-stop shop for design professionals than by collaborating with designer Tiffany Pratt? Tiffany’s brand is about being bold, different, and thinking outside the box, so it was a perfect match.

The event was vibrant and immersive, aligning with a health and wellness theme that encouraged guests to experience some feel-good fun. Five colourful and boldly designed vignettes helped showcase TIDC’s showroom’s décor while playing host to the event’s entertainment: a tarot card reader, angel card reader, oxygen bar, essential oils, crystal reader and mimosa bar.

By generating a lively atmosphere of interaction and inspiration, the event enabled its guests - trade media, mainstream media and trade professionals - to experience first-hand the wealth of incredible design resources TIDC has to offer.

This is just the beginning, there’s still much more to come from TIDC. With such a creative space, home to some very creative thinkers, we are excited to see the fresh brand identity of the Toronto International Design Centre grow and encourage all trade professionals to #exploreTIDC.
